Some games are not regional at all. Gilli danda, kanchay, stapoo, pittu garam, chupan chupai, baraf pani, oonch neech, guttay and latoo are played in every province and territory of Pakistan, in versions that differ in name, count and local rule rather than in substance. Grouping them here is a deliberate editorial choice: it keeps the region pages honest, because attaching a nationwide game to a single province implies an origin claim that no source on this site can support. Each entry linked from this page lists its regional names with the regions that use them, so a reader in Quetta and a reader in Sialkot can both find the version they grew up with. The differences between those versions are recorded as variations, each attributed. Entries still in research carry a research notice: their structure is complete, their rules and history are empty, and nothing is filled in from general knowledge.
