Two-Player Games

دو کھلاڑیوں کے کھیل

Games playable by exactly two people, with no team to assemble and no minimum crowd. Kanchay between two players, guttay across a floor, latoo spun in competition, a malakhra bout, a kite duel between two rooftops: each is a complete contest with a winner, not a reduced version of a larger game. This collection exists because two-player games are the most portable part of the tradition. They fit a flat roof, a corridor, a spare half hour and a household with two children in it, and they are the games most likely to be taught directly by one person to another rather than absorbed from a group. That transmission route is also why their rules vary so sharply between families and districts, and why the variations section on each page is often the most useful part of it. Membership here is filtered on the documented player count. Entries whose rules are still in research are labelled and carry no invented sequence of play.
